Types of Scaffolding
Steel (Tube & Coupler) Scaffolding
Made from steel tubes connected by couplers/clamps, this is a versatile, strong system. It’s durable, fire-resistant and well-suited to custom configurations. Ideal for heavy loads, irregular building shapes, and long-term or large-scale projects.

Commercial / System (Modular) Scaffolding
Also known as modular or system scaffolding, this uses pre-engineered components (vertical and horizontal frames, transoms, braces) that lock together. It’s quick to erect/dismantle, scalable, and commonly used in commercial projects and large jobs.
Suspended (Hanging) Scaffolding
Platforms suspended from overhead structures (e.g. roof edges or beams) using ropes, wires or chains. These can be raised and lowered as needed. Common for façade work, window cleaning, painting or repairs on tall buildings where ground support is not possible.

Cantilever / Needle Scaffolding
Supported on horizontal beams (“needles”) that extend out from a wall or structure. Useful when you can’t place supports at ground level. Good for working over obstacles or around sensitive ground zones.
Rolling / Mobile Scaffolding
A scaffold on wheels or casters, allowing movement without full dismantling. Useful for internal works, façade tasks, painting, repair and maintenance where you need to shift positions frequently.

Trestle / Ladder Scaffolding
A comparatively small scaffold where the work platform is supported on tripods, ladders or movable trestles. Usually suitable for indoor or lower-height tasks (e.g. ceiling works, decorating) up to a few metres.
Single / Bricklayer Scaffolding
Basic scaffold that runs parallel to a wall using a single row of standards, ledgers and putlogs. Primarily used in brickwork or basic masonry work. Simpler and cheaper but less stable for higher loads.

Double / Independent Scaffolding
Two rows of standards spaced away from the wall, with cross-bracing and connecting members. Offers more strength and is commonly used for heavy stone work, restoration, or where you can’t secure the scaffold into the wall.
Patented / Cantilevered System Scaffolding
Prefabricated scaffolding with built-in locking systems and adjustable parts. The “patented” systems are manufactured to specific designs, making assembly faster and safer, with integrated guardrails and safety features.

Mast Climbing Scaffolding
A powered scaffold platform that travels vertically along fixed masts. Excellent for high-rise exteriors, curtain walling, façade installation or repair. It can carry heavier loads and is safer for taller tasks.
